In majority of the cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your account. But you can change your apple ID to any other preferred email address, as long as it’s not already being used as an Apple ID. Your email address is already an Apple ID if it ends with:
– @icloud.com
– @me.com
– @mac.com

Follow these steps to change the email address that you currently use as your Apple ID.

Sign out from the following services that use your current Apple ID on all your Apple devices.

iCloud
-
iTunes Store
-
App Store
-
FaceTime
-
Find My Friends
-
Find My iPhone
-
iMessage

Now go to www.appleid.apple.com and select ‘Manage your Apple ID.’

Click on ‘Edit’ under the ‘Apple ID and Primary Email Address’ section.

Enter the email address that you wish to use as your new Apple ID and click on ‘Save’.

You’ll now receive a ‘Verification Email’ on that email address. Open it and click on the ‘Verify Now’ link. Click here if you didn’t receive the email.

Now sign in with your new Apple ID email address and password. When you see a message saying ‘verification is complete’, you can start using your updated Apple ID.

You may now need to update the features and services associated with your Apple ID in order to get each of those services to use your updated Apple ID.
