1. Keyboard Tricks
You don’t need to keep tapping on the 123 button and then again on the ABC button every time you want to use a symbol. Just tap and hold the 123 button and select the symbol you want to insert. Once it’s been added, your keyboard will automatically revert back to the ABC keyboard.

This one’s a simple but massive time saver. Instead of going to the symbol menu to find a full stop, just double tap the space button. It’ll add a full stop to the end of the word you’ve just typed and set you up ready to begin the next sentence.

2. Shake to undo
If you want to undo or redo something you’ve typed, just give your iPhone a shake to bring up the undo/redo button.

3. Stop music with a timer
If you enjoy falling asleep to music, this is a very useful tip. Most times, you wake up in the morning to music still playing and your battery almost drained out. The hidden ‘Stop Playing’ timer is the solution to this problem.

Go to the clock app and then tap ‘Timer’ in the bottom right of the screen. Set the timer and then tap ‘When Timer Ends’. Here, scroll down to the bottom of the menu and select ‘Stop Playing’. Press start on the timer and then begin playing your music from the Music app. When the timer ends, the music will fade to a stop.

4. Use your headphones to take a selfie
When the camera app is open, you can use the volume up button on your headphones to take a photo. This reduces shake, helps you take more natural-looking photos and photos from further away.

5. Emojis with alphabets shortcuts
If you use Emojis regularly, try this trick:
1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > Emoji.
2. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Add New Shortcut…
3. Insert a frequently used Emoji in Phrase.
4. Insert a text in Shortcut which will be used to convert to Emoji.

6. Turn Off Read Receipts In iMessage
If you don’t want your friends to know when you have read their messages, go to Settings > Messages > Send Read Receipts > Off.

7. Website shortcuts on the home screen
The fastest way to visit a website you like is to turn it into an app that you can access from your home screen. To do this, visit the page in Safari and tap the menu button at the bottom of the screen. Select the button that says “Add to Home Screen” and give the app a name.

8. Notification Management
Slide a notification up to dismiss it, or pull it down to reveal actions you can take. For example, with an iMessage, pull down and you can reply right there.

9. Save your favorite Burst Mode images (iPhone 5s)
The burst mode is an excellent way to capture fast movements, but the duplicates can take up a lot of valuable phone space. After you’ve captured an image in Burst Mode, go to the Camera Roll to view your images. Your burst will appear as a single photo in the album, represented by what iOS 7 thinks is the best photo of the lot. By tapping the Favorites button; select the photo (or photos) you’d like to showcase by selecting them and then select ‘Done’. Here, you can choose to keep the entire lot for future use, or delete all the images you have not selected.

10. Make FaceTime Audio only calls
If you’re looking to cut down on the mobile data usage, you can make FaceTime Audio only calls over Wi-Fi or cellular data networks. Just enable FaceTime in the Settings app, then find an entry in Contacts and tap the phone icon next to FaceTime. This will immediately launch an audio-only FaceTime call. You can switch over to a video call at any point during the call by tapping the FaceTime button.
